Title: Intake coolant leak into one port?
Post by: 67428GT500 on March 09, 2019, 04:22:20 PM
Has anyone had an aluminum C7ZX leak coolant into a single cylinder (#4) in their travels?

Haven't seen that, but #4 is right next to the head water jacket passage.  You could easily be seeing a gasket leak.

+1 Most likely and hopefully a gasket issue.

What's the over/under that the gaskets are Print-O-Seals?

No. Not the Printoseals. 1246-S3 Fel Pro. They replaced the pressed paper style Printo seal and have a steel shim. They are extremely hard and don't compress much.  I just went through a mess because of core shift that caused water in the oil because of #6 weeping coolant into the oil.
After a sleeve and reassembly I thought I was good to go. Now #4 has coolant. I bore scoped the hole. What I noted is when it was pressurized It seems the coolant is coming from the top of the cylinder. I have 180LBS compression, so the headgasket doesn't seem to be an issue.
I thought perhaps the right rear side of the intake may be leaking into the #4 intake port while pressurized. There is no sign of coolant without pressurizing the system to 13-15lbs.
