Looked to me like the little cars were sliding to the outside of the corners badly while the galaxie's were going around them quite nicely.
I suppose they have to toss the little cars into the corner harder because of lack of power.

Yes, you're correct. The much lighter and generally under powered racers tend to slide into the apex to maintain speed and power out much earlier. I'm sure the Galaxie drivers avoid sliding the tires as as much as possible since even in a short 20-30 lap race they would shred even the best race tires. I'll venture they weigh at least 3,800 lbs race ready, no fuel or driver, since in this form of European racing they must use real OEM sheet metal and a full roll cage. Would like to see the long straightway video at Goodwood as the two big ones have at least 3000' straights. Those 427's must run well into the 150+mph range and the exhaust wail must be great!
