Snug cam

The cam has been checked for straightness, both by Delta camshafts and by Star machine . there's nothing spots, it feels nice and smooth, doesn't freeze up after setting, I was extremely careful installing the bearings, .it just seems a little snug to me, I haven't put the inch pound break away wrench on it just to get a number or anything. Idk, I'm using the coated durabond bearings. Wondering it that's making a difference.
Think I have read here some where about slicing a cut in an old cam to clearance the bearings ??
How snug is to snug ?

If you can put the dowel in it and spin the cam by hand, run it. 

All cam tunnels are not perfectly straight.  This is something that you run into with factory blocks...

I've seen people successfully scrape new cam bearings using an old camshaft.  You Dremel cut a diagonal slot on each journal.  Carefully clean and square up each cut with a jeweler's file and emery cloth, then run it through by hand.

Maybe that should be a last resort, if you're sure all of the bearings are in straight.  The scraping will probably take off some of that break-in coating you paid for.
