Some great estimates, but here it is.....drumroll
490 hp @ 5000 RPM didn't really drop off after that, liked 38 degrees total and was in the high 500s in torque, but I forgot the dyno sheet at the shop and don't have the exact torque number, I will update tomorrow. The HP number and RPM is accurate though
Brent and I both think with some tuning and maybe an oil change from 20w50 at 80+ psi, it'd inch over 500 hp, we didn't bother for 2 reasons, 1) the a/f was close enough and I just wanted to get a good cam break-in and total timing number for the EFI, not like I was going to run Brent's loaner carb later, and 2) we were both eager to spin the 352 and play!
The 461 turned out to be a strong engine with nice power and a diesel like torque curve, perfect for my 4x4. I will post updated numbers tomorrow night and put the entire build on the dyno results afterwards.
As always when I bring an engine to town, absolutely a fun day with Brent, and the added bonus of a fun day was the overachiever of a truck motor
Now to clean 50 year old black 352 sludge off my fingers before I put the other 461 on the pump tomorrow
