Best EFI system for Hilborn IR on 526 SOHC

I’m looking for pros/cons and opinions on which EFI system would be best suited for my application. These are my engine details:

Shelby large bore aluminum FE block (4.375 bore)
4.375” (526 cid) or 4.5” (541 cid) 4340 forged crankshaft
Pond SOHC heads
Jay Brown SOHC rocker arms
11:1 static compression ratio
93 octane pump gas
Hilborn EFI (2-7/16” butterflies)
Holly HP EFI system???????
Custom 2” headers
Cam specs are still undecided but they will need to be big
Car use: 90% street, 5% drag, 5% autocross
Curb weight is unknown but I would estimate it to be a couple hundred pounds less than stock.
Target horsepower and torque:  800 hp @ 7000+ rpm and close to 700 Torque @ ???.

After speaking with Hilborn they recommended either Holly HP or a FAST system. Do you guys have a preference or info that may sway my decision?
ERA 427SC Cobra: Iron ‘67 625hp 482” SOHC, TKX 5 speed, TrueTrac 3.31 IRS, Magnesium Halibrands, Avon CR6ZZ tires. 

1969 Shelby GT350, 4 speed.

1967 Mustang Fastback: Close ratio T56 Magnum, Fab-9, Wilwood superlite brakes, Torque arm rear suspension, TCI-IFS with shock tower delete, (Coming soon, FE motor TBD)

1970 F250 4x4 Mud Truck, 557 BBF, as cast P51 heads, 900 hp @6700rpm, 801 tq, Q16, C6.

2012 Cobra Jet Mustang factory drag car, 5.4 liter 4.0 Whipple, 970 RWHP.

1964 Galaxie 500XL, 35 spline 3.70 Strange S-Trac, 6R80, (Coming soon: Pond Aluminum 525 SOHC, 800hp)

Check out the thread below.  The system installed on this engine is also the one I have used successfully on my Hilborn EFI setup on my SOHC.  If you go through that thread you will see everything that is required to set it up and configure it, and its the same for an IR setup like the Hilborn.  Also, check out the second link, which is from an SOHC I did for a local guy, also a Hilborn setup.  The setups I use are much less expensive than FAST or Holley, and they have all the same features.

FAST might be best if your goal is to get it set up, programmed, and learning.  You will find much more support, ie, people who will be able to work on it and diagnose any issues, if you don't feel qualified to handle it yourself.

I'm following. I have a 428 EFI stack by TWM/BORLA and a older FAST. By tuning engine buddy does not care for the self tune computers, but if you want a simple tune, their ok, if you want a lot of tuning options, buy a stand alone program. He's a dealer for one certain company but can't think that is, but the cost is around $900.

I am running a TWM (Borla) EightStack on my FE, and have just purchased a second one. I am using a Performance Electronics ECU with great success. There are four other local guys playing with EFI, using FAST, Holley and FiTech, and none of them are able to get their cars to run as they should.

My original thought of using Holly HP was based on Hilborn telling me they would share some Holly HP tunes for an SOHC very similar to mine.  My thought was that would get me close then I could fine tune it from there.
But I’m totally open minded to other systems based on people’s recommendations that have used and experienced other systems.

Like everyone else I just want a reliable system that is easy to tune. And I’m not the type that likes to pay for a Name Brand if a lesser known brand will do an equal or better job.

At this point I’m kinda leaning toward the system jayb is using. He seems to have it figured out.
