Watched the program. They built a 427 stroker out of a Windsor block. They said that getting 600 horse out of original 427 fe was a daunting and very expensive task. DE MEENG BA FONGULU! That's what fe stands For! Good show other then that.

I watched it too. I'd love to see Blair show up there and build one of his 500 inch "kits" with bolt on pro ports and hit 900 horse. I think they would change their views on "paw paws truck motor"!!

The best way to build that "Windsor style" 427 is to start with the Dart or Ford Racing new Boss Windsor block and have the 4.125 bore with the 4.00 stroke. With this you get a much stronger splayed 4 bolt block designed for  427 cubes to start with.

My build going on 7 yrs. of use now used the same heads and was in the 550 HP area with milder 242/249 hyd. roller.
Well it did run high 10's at 132 in my little '85 Mustang with 3.50 gear.

This was not much of a tribute to the FE - more of a dismissal, and then on to putting Eagle parts in a Windsor. Have any shows actually showcased the FE? I would love to watch one.

The promo for the show stated it was a look at FE engines....all 50 seconds worth.
