lakewood bellhousing #15210 sold
« on: March 04, 2019, 08:51:26 PM »
for sale Lakewood bellhousing and block plate, no hardware. bellhousing is in like new condition. I believe it is new. I had it recertified by hyatt racing in march 2016. so it is out of certification for a year, should recertify. they said it would. I also had them install a adjustment hole for a soft loc clutch. block plate is used but in good condition. looking for 500 plus shipping from 60630.  thanks  ron   rbboilermaker.com

A Bellhousing certification is good for 5 years so that may help your sale. Having the matching block plate and all the hardware would be a plus also. I suspect the shipping is going to be a deal breaker for some (like me).

For regular steel scattershields, the SFI tag is good for 5 years, as Dale stated. However, if it has a removable "window" panel, those require a re-cert every 2 years.
Just curious if this is the earlier design with the smaller lower bolts holding the bellhousing and block plate together, or the later version that has much larger lower bolts, as well as a curved steel reinforcement plate welded to the upper flange area , where the upper 4 bellhousing bolts go thru. If I remember correctly, the lower bolts on the early version have a 9/16" bolt head, and the later is 3/4", I believe. I have both styles, and I believe that they both use the same part number.

It's the later style Rory with the full compliment of 3/8" bolts around the bottom of the flange area. That's why I said having the correct hardware would be helpful. Can't tell from the pictures if it has the double flange thickness on the top but I had one that wasn't that way and still had the large lower bolts.

the bellhousing has the welded upper flange reinforcement,  large holes on bottom for half inch bolts, and was made in 2006. just looked at the block plate. it is the older style drilled for 3/8 bolts,  easy fix

I have one here with 3/8” bottom holes but the receivers for the trans mounting bolts inside are welded on rectangular pieces. No idea on what vintage that would make it.
