Which timing set for quality and price ?

A lot of company's have the double roller chain & billet steel gears.
So other than that, what makes one better than the other and why ?
Prices from $70 to $215?

Not an expert, but I will say that I wish I had Jay's timing cover and adjustable timing gear a few years back when I decided to advance my cam in the truck.

Getting the timing cover off and putting it back cleanly required dropping the oil pan, and pulling the timing gear off. At least the Ford Racing timing gear allowed for multiple mounting positions. It would have been nice to open an inspection plate, loosen a couple of screws, move it and tighten it back up.

I'd have paid a couple of hundred bucks to avoid all the extra work.

I bought a MotorSports from Barry a few years ago. Ran mid 400 lbs for the first 9,000 miles. The last 31,000 have been stock pressures. Did a cam swap 6,000 miles back still very little chain deflection.

I have and like the Ford Racing one.  I don't know if it is better than others, but it has served me well for a long time.   No issues and the 9 position keyway is a must for me.  It allows you to get your intake centerline super close to where you want it.

How about Doug's at Precision oil pumps ?

It's $180 and comes with a thrust plate and other included parts.

I have one of those sets with the thrust kit. Very nice parts. I had no problem with it. Fasteners are ARP.

I don't think it's overkill for s street engine, but looks to be quality built and includes everything needed, some others don't.
Hard to believe that some well know company's are $80. So is the Precision oil's worth twice as much ?

I usually buy the 9 way Ford Racing sets, never had a problem.  The dragster runs a Rollmaster set, it's as tight as new after 3 years of racing, solid roller with open pressures near 600 lbs.

+1 on Doug’s roller set. Thought I’d try it and put many thousands of miles of traffic and desert abuse on it with no problems.
