Non-FE Discussion Forum / 351 C valve seat and diameter question
« on: February 04, 2024, 08:33:34 PM »
Working with a set of 351C 4V closed chamber heads for my vintage road race car.  The intake seat has/is a "venturi ring".  The 60 degree cut just barely catches the seat.  The throat diameter at the ring is 2.05 and narrows to 1.85" as approaching the turn.

As a"mid pack racer" am I just as well off to stay with a 2.19 valve and preserve the "venturi ring" or go to a 2.25" valve and do a 30-45-60-75 to a 1.9" throat"?

The exhaust has a ring also but I can do 30-45-60-75 to blend into the port and eliminate the ring without going to a larger valve. Good idea or bad idea?

Non-FE Discussion Forum / SBF rear main seal suggestion
« on: June 28, 2023, 07:30:14 PM »
Any recommendation on which two piece rear main seal to use for race application? Vehicle is a 69 Mustang, B302 vintage road race car using the Ford D1ZE block. The Fel-pro BS30136 is not recommended for race application.  I am familiar with the Fel-Pro 2901 high vacuum seal but the ones produced now are a little "longer" than the tan ones of the past (which is a concern).  The other choice that I have found is the national 5108 but I don't know anyone that has used it.  Any other choices available?

Would anyone have 4 speed toploader , shift rails, shift forks and reverse idler (gear, slider, and shaft). No one seems to have the shift rails so thought I would ask about "all of the above".

Non-FE Discussion Forum / David Kee Transmissions
« on: August 21, 2020, 09:37:08 PM »
Has anyone been successful in contacting David Kee this year?  Had wanted to order a transmission back in January but no luck in making contact either by phone or email.  Left my contact information, both by phone and email, but no reply.  Finally decided to put together a transmission using the David Kee cases but the link for a maincase has not been active for several months now.  Again I left contact info by phone and email but no reply.

Not my desired direction to go but as a last resort has anyone used the Chinese aluminum maincase that can comment on the "quality"?
