Yes  I saw a 4 cyl Hemi Engine with overhead cam
i Think  from 1903 for those that think Chrysler
"Invented" the Hemi
It was made by Star in USA i think.
Nimbus Motorcycles in Denmark built
almost a copy of it but smaller 500-600cc
or something like that. Cam is driven by a
vertical shaft that is also the generator
For those interested you can google Nimbus Motorcyklar
Interesting Engine in a uggly motorcycle
They were first with telescopic fork

I know i have seen some old Engine (probably 1920s) with 4 valves
and "fork" rockers. I dont remember if it was car or
motorcycle engine
[/quot

Suddenly today it hit me where i saw those fork rockers
it was on a Packard Merlin Engine
They got one Engine displayed at the Airport. I was waiting
for the wifes plane to arive so i had plenty of time to study it.
That versions of the Merlin Engines got excentric rocker-
shafts so when you rotate the shaft you change the rocker-
ratio

rcodecj i Think those brakes overpower the tires you
can mount on 3,5 inch Wheels so absolutly no reason
to go with bigger brakes the tires is the limitation

For what it's worth the Wilwood kit on the front of my 69 Mach 1 saved 40 pounds over the stock disc brakes.  Seems like that is pretty much in line with what rcodecj measured.  Mine also came with spacers, but they were wider, .060" I think.
Hmmm thats the weightsaving my wife tell me i need to do to my self ::) ::) ::)

I have one of those intakes and you could order
them for 2bbl Rochester so there is material
att the base to drill them for Rochester
and open upp the runners to match
if that make any difference i dont know
but im going to try that when and if i have
any spare time
Stromberg WW wich carb is that?
The early y-Block got a 3 bolt carb thats
look like the 94 but is much bigger ...well
over one inch throtlle blades ..1 inch and
some /16 dont remember now
Think 56 is the biggest one

Mercedes Engine here and probably cheaper

Its 20 years since i had a Mustang but if my memory
is right the reinforcements  from the convertibel was
reproduced.
Inner rockers, torqe boxes, behind rearseat from wheeltub
to wheeltub, if you want a "stock"look

(just a pointles reflection but)
I have worked on a lot of Mustangs for customers
and it apears like the Mustangs sold new in Sweden
all had the torque boxes and the "export"brace even the six cylinder ones
when the ones imported later had sometimes non tq box
sometimes on drivers side and conv. had on both sides

hi po Engines have today. Dual cams, 4 valve,
fuel injection. Well all that have been around
since the early 1900s but been used regular

FE Technical Forum / Re: Anyone running a motor plate?
« on: November 25, 2013, 03:39:41 PM »
If you use a motor plate using the water pump bolt holes how do you get the water pump pulleys to line up properly?

I see two options: 1) machine the block face the depth of the block plate or 2) machine the back of the water pump which really means you also need machine a spare.

Never heard of either of these being being done so I'm probably overlooking a simple solution.

Spacer behind the crank pulley or different  pulleys or shortening the
water pump pulley or make new pulley
I have used all of the alternatives

Those look like the picup Wheels with 5.5 inch
bolt circle I Heard the used 2 centers stacked
on each other and welded together to strengten
the Wheels
on the street you probably dont need that
The tires was probably slicks but i dont sure
about that
Probably they used different tires for ovals
and for the roadcourse
