It looks good.

I used the same thing on the Vintage Air defroster vents in the Mustang. It worked out well.

MustangSteve has some good options, but his but his brackets for late model brakes will require 17 inch wheels. The folks on the FYI Ford forum are very helpful as well.

Different spindles will require different tie rod ends or tapered bushings so they work together.

It's an interesting concept. I've watched a lot of his videos and added this one to the list as well. He has another Fairlane and I was wondering if he had changed directions. He has projects all over the drive way and stages of completion.

I guess I got lucky..... we were in Midway Utah visiting family and my wife wanted a rock. It was about 8-12 pounds. Walked it into the post office with it, grabbed the “it fits, it ships” box, wrapped the rock in newspaper and packed it in the box. Paid my money and shipped it. We flew home a few days later and it arrived shortly after we got home!!!

Brent, good luck dealing with the post office.

I’ve had those days where everything I touched turn to crap..... my version of the King Midas touch!!

If I have dealt with someone for more than 30 years and can show a receipt or work request for the completed work, I would need them to explain why the valve seats would be cut different than the valves. I would want to hear that logic. I would be asking with parts in hand on day 1 after I took them home or day whatever that I found it. The 90 days shouldn’t matter if they have marked tour heads to show they’ve worked on them and you haven’t made any changes.

Merry Christmas!! Have a wonderful day with family and friends.

I took the left front spring out for these pictures, and also to check clearance between the front tire and the fender.  Once I had it jacked up to ride height, I checked the camber, and it is currently set exactly at zero.  Clearance is very tight.  There is no interference when the suspension is up against the bump stop and the wheel is straight, but I do start to get some interference when the suspension is up against the bump stop and the tire is turned about 15 degrees in either direction.  I plan to run a half degree of negative camber on the front suspension, so that will help a little, but only about a tenth of an inch if my trig calculations are correct.  I have already trimmed the fender lip and the wheelwell trim as much as I can, so no help there.  I may look at thinning down the brake rotor hat (which is really thick at over 1/2") to get more clearance, but I think I will drive the car cautiously at the start, and see if there are any obvious problems.  Outside of thinning down the brake rotor hat I don't know what else I can do, and I'm kind of married to the tire/wheel combination, so hopefully it will be good, or very close to good, as is.

What about taking material from the mounting pad of the rim? I contacted American Racing about mine and they said it was possible. They referred me to a guy here in Houston that could do it and tell me how much could be removed. That guy said 1/4 was possible, I settled for an 1/8". Cost me $45 a rim.

Came to think about when me and Ollie was going to look at a 34 Roadster about a 300 mile trip
We had my Mercedes Diesel, about 10 miles in to the trip just as i passed a bus Ollie said, this German
runs very nice, yes i said it totaly problem free i just fill up and drive. And it starts to shudder and loose
power like its out of fuel. opens the hood trys the handpump yes its getting fuel opens the drainplug
on the fuelfilter out comes pure water. Had pumps the filter full and it starts right up, runs fine passig the bus
again. Says to Ollie Ohh it was just water that had acumulated in the filter during time, should run fine now.
And it starts to shudder and loose power...Repeated it self for the whole journey down everytime i had passed
that buss. The buss started to honk and wave at us when they passed us stoped on the side of the road with
the hood open. At destination i bought a new fuelfilter changed it, filled up fresh Diesel added half a liter metanol
to mix with evetualy water left. Same procedur all the way home exept passing the buss, until i dropped of
Ollie at his place. I told him you jinxed my car you litte evil Finn  He is know to bring demons and bad weather
where ever he goes. When he landed in Phoenix it snowed for the first time since 1948 When he was in Los Angeles
it was this big flood, when we saw in the news cars floating down the streets ;D

Sounds like Ollie is a bad choice for a travel partner!!!

Paint jail like other people…..come on now…..the Shelby has been locked away in the Jay Brown paint jail with unlimited visitation rights.   ;)

The color looks great. Nice work.

Not trying to be a smart a$$, but I thought it was very productive. It answered questions where I made assumptions.

Who would have thought a new water pump would require milling and welding to fit on a factory application. I would be a wee bit ticked if I had to go through that too.

Agree with the AC brackets being different. The truck brackets I pulled from a 75 pickup were different from the 68 brackets I bought for the Mustang. What brackets are you using?

The vintage air kit came with a one piece bracket for the Sanden compressor, so...no issues with mine, but I do have a parts house remanufactured water pump.

Part way down page three will show some pictures of the front of the motor. Maybe you can see the area that's inferring for you.

Here is a link to the final article on a conversion by one of the magazines.

http://www.mustangandfords.com/project-vehicles/mdmp-0908-1968-mustang-coupe-to-fastback-project

I couldn’t find the actual articles, but do remember them having lots of pictures. Seems like it was spread out over several issues. I don’t know if those articles would have the details your looking for.....I do remember lots of pictures.

Congratulations on the resurrection. Sounds good and looks like happy days ahead.

Also never realized you could do videos through Google like that.
