Your broke and have to make ends meet you learn to fix stuff pretty quick.....

I lived this for a while, leaned on my elders and any one that appeared halfway knowledgeable for what I needed. At some point I figured out it was broke and nothing I could do would make it any worse..... makes it a lot easier to disassemble something I know nothing about. Somethings got fixed, some got tossed!!

when you need something, you don't always have the luxury of waiting. I used to make the rounds trying to find the parts and have resorted to online searches of the nearby parts houses since it's faster. If they have it great, I can call to get it ordered. Or have it sent to the house.

With all the makes and models of cars on the market, I doubt there will ever be a person that can know all /be all to the parts market.... if they can, I'm sure they will have some oddities or quirks of their own. I bet they wouldn't have much of a social life either.

Cost of part + shipping. If you see something you like but not the price, make me an offer.

Set of 16 adjustable rocker arms. They should be considered cores for rebuilding. Brand is unknown. Bores measured .844 or bigger. Some of the pads show wear. They do have the Crane adjuster screws and jam nuts.  $90.00

Tunnel Tote Console for Mustang in 65-66 Parchment color made by TMI. $75.00

Ford FE timing chain. Came on remanufactured long block. No run time. I do not know the brand. The S321 on the cam sprocket show up in the pictures on Rockauto for a Melling standard duty timimng chain.  $10.00

Holley Blue Fuel pump that’s been sitting in my tool box for years. I used it in the early 90’s for pumping water into a camper a few times a week over the course of 6-8 months. Never for gas. Motor runs and I would recommend a rebuild kit. $50.00

Sold items will be deleted. Thanks for looking

Sorry to hear about Cammer. It's really tough to lose an animal that's part of the family.

Having a steering wheel that spins in your hand should be left to an arcade game. I would have needed a clean pair of shorts after that. Great idea on a car hauler to move with. It's amazing how many family treasures and worldly possessions we can accumulate!!

As long as you keep the station wagon, you will never be homeless ;D

I guess I've had a little better luck. Everything was new under the frontend of the car, including Eaton springs. No arning drop. I'm on my fourth alignment with close to 10K on the car. Number 1 got the car going, #2 was after some wandering at speed from #1 and the rear spring swap. #3 came with the addition of the wheel side shock tower brace from Opentracker and new roller spring perches. The other spring perches were starting to clunk with 6000 miles. Same shop did the first three.

After close to 3000 miles, #4 came about due to an increased sense of wander and the car tracking with lines in the concrete or following the rutted path on a well used asphalt surface. It did come with some inner tire wear as well.  Reminded me of my old truck with bias ply tires. The next shop found the tires toe'd out. They didn't find anything loose under the front end. It still doesn't drive like I think it should, but it was better than what it was and we drove to the Mustang Steve Bash in Rockwall a couple of weeks ago.

Neither shop was interested in using spec's from Opentrackers website. It was always a variance of the factory spec with a let's see how it drives follow up. I never took the time for a follow up visit in a reasonable time frame.

I never wanted to try my own alignments due to time and tools, but I have spent enough money to buy some decent tools to do the job. I might have to try my hand at it. At least I could make changes to see how it improves or gets worse as time allows.

You got a nice looking truck. The cars are a lot of fun to get out and drive once you finally get them to that point.

Be sure to watch out on the property taxes even in the same county, school and MUD9 (water, sewer, & trash) taxes can be a real deal killer. The last time I checked areas around Katy, the tax rate was approaching $5 per $1000. I don't know if all counties do, but you can freeze the tax rate on your homestead at a certain age, 65, I think. The school district website will have a host of information about the area it encompasses.

Talk to you car insurance person too. Harris county is high. I understand two counties away in any direction gets a lot better.

Check the elevations of where you want to be since flooding can be a big issue in some areas. Home owners insurance will be high on the coast..... have you been through a hurricane?

No Scorpions to deal with in Houston, but plenty of other flying critters.

You didn't mention what type of terrain you're looking for either. The east side of the state will get you plenty of trees and flat areas. The farther west you go the tougher the trees get to survive and hills. The north end of the state does have some hills and nice trees. Padre and Mustang Island have nice beaches, Galveston does does not.

You want seasons? Houston has pre-summer, summer, post summer, and winter. Winter starts later this week and runs through March!! I see on the news that our neighbors to the north get all 4 season.

When all else fails street view on google earth can provide a lot of details. Along the bottom of the screen will have the date of the imagery. From aerial view, there is a way to see different points in time for the same location.

I remember riding in the truck to San Antonio as a kid and there not being a lot of traffic at the time. Those days are gone now and that stretch of I-10 is always busy. Find a Buc-ee's, there's all kinds of stuff.... don't let your wife go in!!
