Any of you fellas have experience with the 195 heads?
Thanks.

What would you like to know? :)
FWIW, if you don't have them yet, when it comes to Clevelands, I'm a staunch CHI guy.

Hey Brent! I know TFS kicks butt with their small block, 460 and FE heads and was curious if the Cleveland heads would perform in like fashion.
I bought another rusty Cougar, this time a 1970 M code car. The original 4V Cleveland is long gone and the 2V engine that's in it now looks to be high mileage, and if I freshen it up, I'd like to either go with original 4Vs or the TFS offerings as they seem to be a decent deal.
I don't really know anything about the CHIs but I believe they are more expensive than the TFs. Correct me if I'm wrong.

They are not more expensive than the Trick Flows and are better performers, IMO.
For a stock stroke 351C, the CHI 2V or 4V heads either one would work really well.

Hmm, okay. When I get to the point of actual purchase, I'll get a hold of you. You know, it might be fun to install them on the engine as it is. It does seem to run well, however, the timing chain is really sloppy and I'm installing a new one right now, as well as a new oil pump, pick-up and fuel pump.
It has headers and a nice dual system all the way out the back, a Holley Street Dominator intake and Holley 750 vacuum secondary carb.
Would be interesting to see the power difference with just swapping the 2V heads for the CHIs.

410 Bruce. might you be interested in a 351 4bbl Cleaveland 4bolt long block with the heads and intake? It's one I built for my truck many yrs ago and changed horse's mid-stream. PM me your phone number and we can talk Garry

Agree with Brent here - as a long time 351C guy. CHI has the best set of available parts that work with each other. They were the only vendor that has any intakes that will work with my older AFD heads. Had I rolled first with CHI I would not have spent so much time thrashing around for compatible upper engine parts. AFD Dave shut down 2~3 years back as I recall.

Thanks guys.
Garry, I'm always interested in stuff like that, but my pocketbook isn't. lol.
I'm sure a rebuilt 4V Cleveland is going to be more than I can do right now, and depending on where you are, the freight would probably be a killer.
You know, the ironic thing is, about 2 months ago I sold a cherry, standard bore 1970 short block, a set of 1971 4V heads, new Ferrea valves, 1970 intake and 1973 exhaust manifolds because "I'll never do anything with it." :o :-[

This is how we become engine part hoarders ;D
