I have run that pressure plate and a similar 26 input splined disk since 2006. I really like the combo behind my 489, more than any other clutch I have used or installed, ever....
A couple of things: You need to lose the pedal assist spring, you need to make sure the linkage doesn't over center, and I don't run it on slicks. However, it's been being worked hard for 12 years without so much as an adjustment.
McLeod stopped making that Kevlar combo, however, when I bought it, Red at McLeod said it was the combo for me for a street/strip 489. If I can find a replacement disk to keep on the shelf, I'd buy it. I wouldn't hesitate putting a set of slicks on it, but McLeod did stop selling it for some reason
In my F100, I run a 11 inch Long with a Ceramic/Organic combo, it's good too, but the ceramic feels like stone compared to the Kevlar. Not enough miles to know
My hunch though is that if more street than strip, good choice, if a lot of time hooking, might want to consider a more aggressive disk and/or pressure plate as well as consider more surface area like the dual disk.
