Ford Shifter

I am working on a guys 57 Ford installing a top loader with a Ford shifter.. Part of the T bar for the reverse lockout is broken off.. How do you dislodge that little sucker from the shifter and cable. I am stumped..

The cable is silver soldered to the lug in the bottom of the shifter. Bill Healy is a toploader shifter guru, his number is 301-774-6710. He is in Maryland. Good luck. JoeZ
