what is everyone using for front drag springs? I have a 64 and have thr rear monoleaf/caltrac setup. I just heard over the weekend that you need 5 inches of travel up front. Was even thinking of 6 cylinder springs from Eaton?

Moroso Trick springs is what I've been using for years.

IIRC, I use the 47160 items in ny Falcon, which runs around 1750 lbs on the front tires.

I use Moroso 47190 in my wagon. I did cut 1 turn off them, which puts it on the bump stops which makes it pretty close to the ground for headers.
For the last 10+ yrs I thought this is what the car needed. I spent a day in July doing some shock testing and found out otherwise. I have since bought a new set of 47190's and will install them UNCUT to raise the car up 1-2" this winter. I don't have time to do it before the last couple races this fall. After my testing I had to put a new oil pan and radiator in the car. :o
Granted I have ladder bars and the chassis likely responds differently then Caltracs? Up to this point I knew my car liked(needed) 8" of front end travel, but once I finally did some testing and found out I was completely wrong I want to get the nose of the car off the ground. At some point I would like to make it street legal-ish and take it to a local cruise in.

Thanks Battlestar. I will look at those springs. What kinda 60 foot times are you achieving? I'll be running a g101a with a 3.17 1st. I think you run a g5r, right?
-
Yes, my 5R is 3.21 first.
I run 1.43-1.45 for the most part, but have gone 1.40 on a really tight track.

Is that with the front or back tire ;)

Front. It typically drops right before the 60ft lights. I've bounced over it a time or two and that will show a really slow 60ft. Not very common though.
