Like the title says. I'm curious about what gears Ford used on 4 speed equipped cars in the 60's and 70's. Not too interested in the hotrod 4.11 kind of stuff, more like what would you get if you didn't specify on the order.

A 67 Fairlane GT S code 390 4 speed came stock with a 3.25. Mine did anyways.
Works pretty good too for a cruiser.

my 64 Galaxie P/I had 3.50

I think 428CJ cars came with 3.50 gears standard, for all three years. If you wanted higher or lower then it cost extra.

Wade, my '67 Mustang GT S-Code 4-speed came new with a 3.25 rear gear. I ordered Equa-Lock also.

My '66 7 Litre's both had 3.25 (9-3/8") with there 4 speed close ratio transmissions.

Cool! I was guessing probably 3.25 or mayyyyyybe 3.50 but it was just a guess with no data. Didn't know how to search that through google so I sure appreciate the input. I'm kicking around the idea of swapping the 3.89's for 3.25's in the Galaxie. Would also have to swap the TKO .64 overdrive for a .82 to end up with a few more rpm on the highway and a lot less in town. I figure if 3.25 was a common stock gear it should still be lots of fun behind a beastly FE stroker and might possibly help reduce some wheelspin with the street tires.

Wade, I've got a set of 3.25 gears, and also a stock third member made up with 3.25 gears in it, if ya need them, shoot me a msg.

Thank you Drew, but I already have a nice set hanging around. Now if you happen to have that .82 main shaft and OD gear for the TKO.... Hahaha

In January of '64, when I ordered my '64 Custom '427-T' I had a choice on the order form of a 3.50 or a 4.11. I ordered a 4.11. No 'locker' was available.
