Title: FE Adapter to block gasket Fel-pro number?
Post by: Keith Stevens on December 02, 2021, 09:13:51 AM
My factory oil filter adapter was damaged and I purchase the reproduction to replace it. The gasket provided with the adapter is not paper thin like the factory gasket. The gasket seems to be of decent quality and is clearanced  for the ports on the adapter. It just seems to weep. I have changed it twice now.
I was wondering if anyone had a Fel Pro number for the gasket.
I have about 70-80 PSI cold with 20-50.  25 Psi @ 900 idle and 60-65 PSI at cruise hot.
Do you recommend copper spray on the gasket?

**Edited my answer** I took a look in a few of my older Fel-Pro catalogs and I didn’t see a listing for that gasket alone. Unfortunately I don’t have a new catalog, I don’t know if it’s listed separately there. I opened one of my Fel-Pro #2720 R*A*C*E ( Remainder to Assemble a Complete Engine ) gasket sets and pulled out the oil adapter gasket in the set and it’s numbered #70135. That appears to be a good Fel-Pro number for that gasket.

If it helps the Ford part number for the paper gasket is C0AZ-6A636-B, i don’t know if it’s still available new, been a while since I ordered some, but there are lots of them floating around.

Ford also had a rubber coated embossed steel version available, it’s part number D3TZ-6A636-A. I put an Internet picture below. The oil passage holes are shaped a little different to match the pickup truck oil adapters. I think I have one around here somewhere, but can’t find it at the moment, I was going to try holding it up to the typical car oil adapter and see if the passages work, but can’t verify right now. I don’t know if these are still available at the dealer, but again seems there are a bunch out there.

Here’s the D3TZ-6A636-A for those interested.

Thank you for posting that. The embossed would  be ideal.  It would help make up for any irregularities.

I found the gasket if you can verify it will work with the passenger adapter.

I haven’t been able to dig up one of the D3TZ embossed ones here to verify how the holes line up with the standard car adapter. I know they’re kind of spendy, so I hate to recommend it off hand. Hoping maybe someone else here on the forum had one sitting around who could check too, apparently not. A lot of people probably don’t even know that one exists.

Thanks. I found the paper gasket at Napa. I like the embossed gasket if they work.  The reproduction housing uses the performance version that has the passage openings cut to match the adapter opening. The thick paper seems to be oil saturated.
