Dan Gurney was a joy to watch in a race car. Probably no one ever drove Riverside better than he. Cobra's, Ford Indy program, Gurney/Weslake heads and GT40's, Eagles, and a lot of class.

Another good article on his career:
http://www.racer.com/f1/item/146728-dan-gurney-1931-2018
Speaking of Riverside Raceway in CA, he won 4 NASCAR races there! Not including the LeMans 24, Formula 1, sports car, and Indy car victories. At Indy in 1973, 19 of the 33 starters drove Eagles manufactured by his team, All American Racers.
