Heo:
I hada '61 Volvo like the one in your picture with a Buick 231 V6 in it when I was in my mid 20's.  They always reminded me of a small '40 Ford.

Yeah those PV Volvos are very cool!  Not too many over here.

I told my wife last night that I need to get out your way!  Maybe I shouldn't show her the picture of the dessert case in the coffee shop though.  She might wonder about my motives...

The blue really flip-flops in the light..
I went over to a friend's house to get the windows adjusted. It surprised me how different it looked at night under the light.

This one in the pic is a 61 so it got the B16 engine stock, 62 got the B18, big improvement with five
mains , in many ways a downsized FE . Yes they reminds of a 40s american car in many ways, rear
suspension is an improved late 40s Buick. Front suspension reminds of a 49 Ford/ Mercury  with that X shaped
controll arms. It was a realy up to date car when it came in 1944

Bill,
It was once the most common car in Sweden so no one thought about saving them so
they are kind of gone here to :(  I think they started selling the 444 (split windshield)
in U.S September -55 with the export engine with 70 hp. Swedes had to buy it with
the 51 hp stock engine. They made the PV from 46-65 in less numbers what Ford
made Galaxies in 64 so i guess the few that sold in U.S is far between
Well you can photoshop out some items in the pic ;)

Heo, that was exactly what happened to the original engine, The main bearings had failed. If I recall correctly, they used a dual SU carburetor set up. I had a 1969 SSS Datsun 510 with the 1600 that had the same. I got pretty good at tuning the SU  carbs.
