Spark plug thread repair question
« on: January 04, 2024, 08:09:07 PM »

I am not familiar with this style thread repair. Was there a particular company that offered this repair? Seems like the original thread would have to be totally wiped and even then why would you go through the difficulty?

Hard to tell in the photo, but is that the regular 18 mm FE sized insert, or a smaller 14 mm insert? Is it just 1, or all 8 done like that? I have had broken off FE valve cover, and exhaust manifold, bolts, and stripped out rocker stand bolts, but I have never seen a FE spark plug hole damaged.

Thread is regular FE. Two of the 8 holes have it.
