Still trying to get rid of these...trades welcome.

Ford also tested a 4V version. Note that this intake is a true dualplane design where the Offy "Dualport" is a divided single plane manifold.

Still hoping to off these, Trades welcome...
*Glad to provide more pictures and if possible I'd prefer the buyer see them in person so there are no surprises.

I'm looking for XE/SK Ford parts, factory tach drive distributors, odd/interesting Hiriser intakes, Moldex/Crower/ M/T stroker crank, rubber full floor mats for 62-65 Fairlane, 60's fiberglass doors for 62-64 Fairlane, 62-63-65 fiberglass decklid etc.

With exception of the crank I'm only interested in real 60's parts.

Thanks, Dan

FE Technical Forum / Re: Anyone Here Have Jim Dove Heads ?
« on: August 16, 2019, 01:40:53 PM »
I've been hearing the stolen parts tale since the early 90's... true or not Jim Dove and his crew sold the seconds and unfinished castings at the local swapmeets right along side the "good" parts. That's how I originally met him and in part where my interest in FEs came from.

Otherwise failures of heads and intakes bought directly from Jim as first quality parts are very, very common occurrences. Simply ask around at the next show and form your own opinion. His embedding process did little more than make repairs more difficult.  Several sets have passed a cold pressure check just for the embedding to then fail on a fresh engine. We have to remember this process seals minor pores in the casting and was never intended to bandaid inconsistent castings with thin walls and major porosity. Dove's regular excuse for this was that an owner over ported his heads. While certainly possible most of those leakers I've run across have been as cast examples. I've also been told that Dove heads without
a heatriser passage did not have these casting problems. In my experience this is also completely false.

In saying this I still have a bit of respect for the products Dove made. Matter of fact his  factory style castings with part numbers are exactly what I'd be interested in if not using original Ford parts. Still I can count the guys I've met who got good parts on one hand. Where I've lost count of the failures I've witnessed myself let alone the stories you hear. Have anything you plan to buy thoroughly inspected.

Bottom dollar... $6,000 for heads and TD's or
$5,000 for heads and $1600 for rockers.

 Keith,
You may want to consult Mr. Patrick for what he can do for you currently as I'm sure prices have changed since then. I however arrive at that number in this manor... we were originally talking $2500ish for the race setup but when he got to my stuff he suggested trying the babyroller cam and less spring pressure. If I did this cutting the MR street rockers to fit would be sufficient vs milling the heads for the race rocker supports and would save me $500. I wanted the race set but liked the idea of not chopping the pedistols off the original heads and went along with it.

Doug, FWIW I contacted TD back in 2016 when I bought the heads, they could make them but did not have a listing per the site or the reply.  They did offer the race version for the Blue Thunder Hiriser but not the street stuff before for iron heads. Due to this they claimed it would be a "custom". At what point along the way these became available I'm uncertain but I received this set at FERR 2018 at around $2k fit to match. I would guess this may be in part gearing up in anticipation for the new hush hush Hiriser heads.

These are bushed TD rockers that Blair had made up vs the standard needle bearings you find in most TD applications. At the time the Hiriser set you have found was not offered so you would buy the Mediumriser set and mill down the stands to fit Hiriser. I bought these when I bought the heads below.

I'm going to guess they look a bit like these but mine are cut down MR TD's to fit Hiriser and quite a bit more expensive. Lol

Nice and peaceful isn't it? Lol That whole deal is sad but even at our local anything goes two day swapmeet that individual's actions got a mention from one of the handful FE fans to visit my space. Every Ford show including the Boss cars get together after Columbus someone brings it up. I just want to talk old Fords without all the drama.

Tapatalk sucks... but in signing up it is managable. Many of us are on both forums, Wes' and Dave's pages plus others. Jay's is definitely the nicest, no hassle experience but the focus is the FE racer and every once in a while a guy looking to pep up a 360 with no concerns of original. There is a lot of technical information here but rarely is there much in the way of history of FE cars and the details of them. There's nothing wrong with that but I check in from time to time and otherwise look elsewhere. Because of this I'm hoping the old forum can survive but Tapatalk may just be that unfortunate final blow.
