lost a member
« on: November 07, 2021, 03:25:04 PM »
Sad to say we lost a member to Covid last Wednesday. Dan Speicher, aka cattleFEeder, From New Hampton, Iowa. Dan was a true Ford fan, many nice cars, one you may know here would be his 63 an half Galaxie. He was a hard working Iowa farm boy with a large cattle feeding operation. Neighbors got together and finished his beans yesterday, and will start on the corn after the funeral. Always looked forward to cruise night at the A&W, to see which car Dan and Carol would bring. He had a lot of good choices, the Dan Gurney being my favorite. I had hoped we could do some shows in the future, if we could get him away from his cattle. He will be missed.

No  kidding :(. I'll be damned. I've talked to him many times, ( I live maybe twenty five miles south of him ), and would see him at many of the local show/cruises. I sure wouldn't have expected this as he seemed pretty young and healthy. What a bad deal :-\. I sure hope the best for his family and friends.....Jim Kramer

I'm so sorry to hear.  I didn't know Dan but I enjoyed his posts.

Very sorry to hear this.  The neighbors taking over to complete the farm tasks is a great thing to read.  A wonderful final favor.  We've lost two of our racing community in the last two weeks.  One we lost in only 3 days.

"Let's be good to one another."  Yes, please. An incredibly positive message, thanks.

That is awful. The knowledge/ experiences he shared made me think he was older than 53.

That's just really bad news. Didn't know the man but would have liked to. He lived about 125 miles north of me and my son played basketball with some kids from there. Just a good
old Iowa boy. Rest in peace and condolences to the family. Steve
