Well the thought process was easy install outside of the car using high temp silicone.
But its an Fe going into a 66 fairlane so header removal would not happen in that engine bay.
I just thought they might have better clamping force than bolts. Thanks for the input , I will stay with the bolts, makes life easier.

What is the downside to using studs to mount headers?
Do you use bluelocktite , or hand tighten them?
Does it matter if the heads are cast iron or aluminum.

Thanks Barry, at 1.35 HP per cube is not too bad for an old truck motor. Its a street motor for my 66 fairlane.
Jay I will post some pics, its going to be a winter project.
Thanks to everyone on this forum for helping and sharing info on these old motors. I would have never built an Fe without it. If I had a dollar for everyone that told me to do a Windsor based build or a 460 stroker instead of a Fe, I could have built two motors.

Probably overkill for a street motor with 520 cubic inches and a solid roller 735 lift cam.
Dyno time my guess is next week and ready to pick up in 2 weeks.

Here is a video of my 520 FE on a simtester, being built by TMeyer in Fairmont MN.
Tim is a ford guy that does a lot of 351C and 400 engines.
My engine is a BBM block, cnc heads and their 2X4 intake.

On my 351c build last year 10 out of the 16 lifters would not stay pumped up. Switched over to morel no more problems.
