Aluminum flywheel
« on: September 08, 2019, 02:54:07 PM »
Does anyone run the fidanza aluminum flywheel or have experience with them? My factory one has small spider cracks starting so its going to scrap.

I'm running one as well.  I installed the new ring gear myself. Oven and dry ice worked well.  With a light car I don't need all the rotational weight. I am sure it's easier on the driveline too.

I have ran the fidanza on my own stuff and have sold quite a few of them.  They are nice pieces.

However, I generally don’t recommend aluminum flywheels for street cars.  If you live in a hilly area or a part of town with lots of stop signs or lights, it could be harder on your clutch.  It takes a little more slipping to get a car off with a light flywheel.
