Hooker 6903 headers - almost new...SOLD
« on: October 08, 2019, 08:18:39 AM »
Ran these on the recent EMC entry
Only have about 30 dyno pulls on them.
2WD pickup truck headers.
The black paint they ship with is pretty much burned off.
The weird little reduction to 2.5" step at the end of the collector has been removed (tried it - not good)
The gaskets are obviously gone
The bolt kit they send with them is in orbit somewhere - - why would a big company use a junk fastener with a 3/8-16 thread and a metric hex head?
Original price from the big box stores is about $287 - - can I get $200???

Any chance the flanges are big enough to work with a tall (C1AE) exhaust port? I'm guessing not.

Don't have a C1 here to compare.  Ran them on a C6AE set and they were OK FWIW

I think the C6 and C1 exhaust ports are about the same height relative to the bolts. Let me measure tonight and make sure. If they are I'm interested. All the truck headers I have are for the D2 style exhaust with the port all the way at the bottom between the bolts and there is a huge mis-match on the C1AE's.

Center of C6AE lower bolt hole to bottom of head port on these castings is +/-1.100
Port on these heads is 1.825 tall
Headers openings are a little bit larger than the ports - .100-.200 based on carbon pattern

Close the same size as the C1's so those headers should work. I'll take them!

Those are the only off the shelf truck header that fits the "passenger car" exhaust port that I know of if anyone needs that info.

Stan's will build a set (cost more than the truck is worth in my case). Sanderson says they're shorties fit but I can't confirm that.
