The Munster Rod?

I remember reading in hot Rod Magazine in the early eighties that the Munster Mobile was built by the same designer as the Bat Mobile? Is this true as then I would imagine it was FE powered.

Kind of a funny spot for this question. But i know this one, it had a 289 with a bunch of phony carbs on top. The Dragula coffin was also a 289.

Didn't know, what a disappointing thing to hear. At least it wasn't a SBC.

Awesome I love it, wonder where it went? Wish someone built a replica kit, I have a flat head that I could put in there. The coffin body can be had in fiberglass but aluminum would be better.

Found all the info, George Barris built a few of them.
They all were hand laid fiberglass taking over 500 hours each to fully construct. The cost then was over $18000 dollers each. At the time that would be pretty pricey I would imagine.

An aftermarket Windsor will do that.

A lot of blocks will go out to 425 but not a 289 in 65

I wonder if it was a Winsor block design? 289 base with thicker walls and taller 9.5 deck? Ford was pouring a lot of technology and parts inventory for the 289/302/351 series blocks at the time. And Keith Black was and Shelby were building some race specific parts also.

probably a bone stock 2v 289 just 10 carbs added
and a few of them working

Most likely correct. Just bad info stated on the websight. Barris was not into building performance engines, just using base engines with lots of cool looking bolt-ons in wild looking rides. Looks was the name of the game, not performance.
