low vac

i hooked a vac guage to my carb today.what are some reasons for low vac at idle.i could not get it above 6
1966 comet caliente 428 4 speed owned since 1983                                                 1973 f250 ranger xlt 360 4 speed papaw bought new

Vac leak,ign timing,idle fuel mix....big cam...

Or testing vacuum from a ported area.....
