One reason the rear housing could squirm is because of the isolaters. Get rid of them. I did so this year with no ill effects and, as a bonus gained almost an inch of ride height.

Like Jay said, waste no time in making this project happen. Lord knows the Chevy world deserves some payback for all the scrub motors that ended up between the frame rails of most Model A's. Get busy Bob!

I'll be driving an FE from Southern Ontario and will be passing through your area. Let me know if anyone wants to get together. Val.

FE Technical Forum / Yesterday's minor damage.

Went for a 50mi. drive yesterday and on the way back, a heavy rapping sound came on while I was turning left on a 6 lane road. I saw full oil pressure was was able to limp it onto the gravel shoulder 250ft. clear of the busy intersection. Had it flat-bedded home without issue (thanks Hagerty Plus). Here's what I found. Not gonna badmouth these old Doves... being 25yrs. old and on its 3rd motor. Rube Goldberg would surely approve.

I thought a Drag-Pack car always had an oil cooler. Today, I helped a friend set up at an indoor car show. Met an old-timer with a 1969 Mustang GT Cobra-Jet Drag-Pack car. He said his Marti report said it was 1 of 1. 4.30 gear but no oil cooler. Was I wrong to think the cooler was mandatory? Educate me please.

Your harmonic balancer looks very wobbly from here.

Good sounding motor. I noticed the custom valve covers right away. What's the story on them?

I know nothing about this truck. The term "original" must be explored here. I wanna believe it wears its factory paint.... FWIW, in American dollars its around 10K and mileage is less than 25,000.  Great potential. JMO.

I could only stomach small doses. Prices for legit rare cars were very low. Like Tom said, those overdone trucks were "trending" and priced up to the moon. I'll be darned if B-J is going to tell me whats blue-chip.

Just learning this postimage thing now. This'll be pic HEAVY. I got this carb at the Pomona Swap Meet 25 yrs. ago. Even then, FE seemed relatively scarce. 406c.i. B-Code 4bbl. New. Hopefully Drew will get a feel for the colors. Feel free to reach out for more pics, daylight pics, etc.

Great work Alex! Lots of fab work to bring this rusty truck back. The color is the CN Corporate colorapplied to all their vehicles and equipment. Although I don't know the name or code of this color I found mention on the 3rd page of this modeller's paint reference chart:

Keep us posted on your progress. Thanks, Val.
