Title: Nostalgic look for a 427 CO? Grant Spaulding setup?
Post by: FERoadster on September 15, 2022, 11:26:40 PM
My 427 CO is going into a early 1960's car and I 'm wondering about using a Grant-Spaulding distributor/
Do know it's age/look appropriate for the time frame but what should be the timing be? 14 degree's initial and 38 at what RPM?
Street driven car prob 3200# 3,90 gearing 4 spd. WR toploader CI long tube headers.
Sending the distributor to AdvancedDistributer's in Minn. for a check and recurve.
Oregon Cams 600-608 lift I and E.  Edel. Heads that flow 300+ at .600 lift. Large 6X2 Carb intake.
So what curve is best for my car?

Maybe a OEM correct Ford ditzy with a Pertronix pickup?

Some details on your Grant Spaulding ditzy idea:
