« on: March 08, 2020, 08:33:04 AM »
I have a 352 with an automatic now.  I don't remember if there is a spot for a piliot bearing on the crank if I want to put a manual behind the 352.

Does anyone have intrest in a set of sanderson ceramic coated headers? They have no dings or dents and have maybe 5 hours of run time on them. They fit 1965 and up full size ford and mercury cars.  I paid the full $615 plus shipping.  I'm asking $500 shipped.

FE Technical Forum / Reading spark plug colors
« on: October 26, 2019, 09:25:53 PM »
I pulled some plugs today on my 352.  If I had to guess from what I've read they are running hot and lean.  Does any on here read plugs for tuning?

FE Technical Forum / Scarebird front disc brake swap
« on: October 18, 2019, 05:38:53 AM »
I bought my car with the swap already done.  The pedal effort seems pretty excessive for the amount of brake I get.  What master cylinder is recommended to run with the scarebird setup or what are you guys running with them?  The brake booster hoods vacuum so I'm guessing that's not the problem.  I have to replace rear axle seals also along with new shoes.  They are oil soaked now.

FE Technical Forum / Arcing around base of spark plugs.
« on: October 18, 2019, 05:35:32 AM »
I can see some arcing around the base of at least 5 spark plugs on my galaxie.  And one has an arc that is visible about every 3 seconds which seems odd.  What causes the arcing around the base of the spark plugs? I've never noticed it before.

FE Technical Forum / Vacuum leak around intake bolt holes
« on: July 28, 2019, 12:33:44 AM »
I got my 352 up and running now.  And after cam break in I set the timing and was checking for vacuum leaks.  I have 12" at idle and 21" at 2400 rpm.  When I spray brake clean around the intake bolt holes the idle drops off.   Where is it pulling vacuum from by the bolt holes?  Is it just leaking around the holes and running up the pcv?

FE Technical Forum / 65 galaxie headers on for motor installation
« on: June 21, 2019, 11:34:42 PM »
I'm getting ready to put my 352 back into my 65 galaxie. I'm wondering if I can get away with having the sanderson headers and starter on before I drop back into the car.  I pulled the headers off when I pulled it but it would be awesome if I could install them with the engine out on the stand still.

FE Technical Forum / Intake manifold vacuum leak
« on: December 30, 2018, 02:41:23 AM »
Finished up installing my headers and running new exhaust on the galaxie today. Checked for vacuum leaks around the intake and found some by the intake bolt holes.  Seems weird that it can suck it in that far with the gaskets being under the valve covers. How are you guys checking for intake manifold vacuum leaks leaks? Do you pull valve covers off to check them?

FE Technical Forum / Stock 352.
« on: December 26, 2018, 01:42:57 AM »
Hi guys. I have been digging around to figure out why my 352 seems to be low on power. I bought my 65 galaxie 500 with the 352 rebuilt. Stock specs with a comp cams 33-222-3 cam. Only other thing different from stock is the .030 over sized piston.  I'm not sure if I'm expecting to much but it just seems like a big slouch. I have the initial timing set at *12 and all in timing is at *38. Compression test showed 125 +- 1 or 2 on all cylinders. I sold my 72 scamp that had a rebuilt 360 magnum in it with 2.76 gears and that car ripped pretty good. Is there something I'm missing here? The galaxie weighs 400 lbs more than the scamp. Seems like that shouldn't make that much of a difference.
