I have a 352 with an automatic now.  I don't remember if there is a spot for a piliot bearing on the crank if I want to put a manual behind the 352.

Does anyone have intrest in a set of sanderson ceramic coated headers? They have no dings or dents and have maybe 5 hours of run time on them. They fit 1965 and up full size ford and mercury cars.  I paid the full $615 plus shipping.  I'm asking $500 shipped.

FE Technical Forum / Re: Reading spark plug colors
« on: October 27, 2019, 11:33:58 AM »
I pulled some plugs today on my 352.  If I had to guess from what I've read they are running hot and lean.  Does any on here read plugs for tuning?

Reading plugs is almost a waste of time if you are just swapping after running in a variety of conditions.  Load, mixture, timing, temperature, all is continuously changing.  If they are burning clean, and not melting/cooking the center, I'd just run them.

Knowing your mixture by reading plugs is really only effective after a WOT blast with an immediate shut down, and even if that is perfect, it won't look the same after driving around

Ok I was mainly worried about the reddish color on them. I didn't know if that meant something. From what others have said that is just an additive in the fuel and nothing to worry about.

What causes the red coating? Is that from the ethanol in the fuel?

I have a master cylinder for an 85 mustang coming. Listed as a .83 bore diameter. Well see how it works out.

If the master cylinder change works, can you please post up and let us know. I bought the same setup for my '62 but have not installed yet.

Similarly, I liked that it was common parts in case something needs to be replaced eventually.

How much vacuum do you have at idle?  I have 14" and I seem to have better brakes when driving down the road..

Finally took the galaxie for a drive further than a half mile from the house after I figured out why the car was not shifting right.  The line fell off the modulator on the transmission.  Shifts great now.  The car has about as much power as you would expect it to for what it. Now I need some gears and and some brake work done.

So how do you know what booster will fit? Are you guys just going to parts store and having them dig through stuff till it fits?
