Has anyone used any of there ring and pinions ?, they are all rem polished and back cut to lighten them and they have various ratios and sell for $ 125.00 .. an example a set 3.75 that have 44 miles on them , practice and qualifying .. Bud

Wow never gave any thought that a NASCAR Cup team would swap gears out after "practice and qualifying" !
Do the prices drop much more after being run for 500 or 600 miles or the pure hell of 266.5 miles at Bristol?
-
I dont think they would sell the stuff run for a full race , there budget is endless and they always use numerous gear ratio s for qualifying , hence the 40 mile gear set . I bought a detroit locker from them for 350.00 and it came with a tag filled out and signed by a team mechanic stating it used for 13 laps , 9 practice and 4 qualifying and then taken apart , inspected , tolerances checked then put back together and signed by the team mechanic . I have never used them - but I have a friend that has used a few sets (as well as some other roundy-round "low mile" stuff) and swears by it. His words - not mine - "It is the best quality stuff you can buy - and it is either wrecked when you get it - or not - and if it is not - then it is VERY good stuff at a fraction of the price." If memory served he had 5-6 gear sets for his very pedestrian bracket car... :-)

Big Nate, did he run the lockers on the street? Do you know if the lockers are more agressive than "normal"?
-
I run a used NASCAR complete center section in my Fairlane. It's not from Roush/Yates.
Was told it was run just for some testing then put back on the shelf.
REM treated gears that look like show pieces. no wear.
Everything inside is safety wired.
Locker, with billet yoke n pinion support.
Works great.
This is a race piece so it makes a little noise turning in the driveway etc.
Could never build one like this for what I paid for it.
I don't think they would try to sell you something that was worn out.
I wouldn't be afraid of their gear sets.

No - was a bracket car... just track use. But... other than the noise... I guess I don't know how a locker would be more or less "aggressive." Perhaps I'm missing something?

When you go around corners, some D/Ls pop, snap and bang more than others. To the uninitiated this can be disconcerting. ;)
-
I can live with the locker pop - noise , i have run one before on a daily driver an f-250 4 by , i will put the trac loc on the shelf .. nothing compares to that traction . Bud

I was at Charlotte Dirt Track this past weekend for the Dirt Finals and the RoushYates trailer was there. I bought a 4.11 set of gears for $45. They had a bunch of sizes. I didn't need the gears but could not pass up the bargain. This was not the souvenir trailer granstand side rather the pit trailer. Saw a late model crew guy with 3 sets in his 4 wheeler. Must have been loading up for next year.

I'm currently using NASCAR REM/lightened 4.00:1 gears in both of my Fairlanes. Pleased with both sets. A lot of folks shy away from the 4.00s, as the pinion teeth don't cycle around on the ring gear, but mine have been fine and were purchased off ebay for a song.

I'm running a 3.70 gear from Rich on FE..com with my old locker ... the gear is from Joe Gibbs Racing , like mentioned they look like show pieces ..... it runs nice and quiet and haven't had any problems yet nor do I expect any problems
