Post by: 6667fan on April 24, 2021, 05:05:40 PM
just run them? Last time car was at track it was a real s’show. I don’t know what was going on with prep. Also, four boosted fart cans in a row could not make a pass without something blowing up and necessitating another wipe down.
Thanks

Yes, now it’s working. It’s possibly excess traction compound ( glue ) from the track prep, or maybe a combination of traction compound and old softened rubber from the possibility alcohol based cleaner used for the oil down cleanup. It will probably wear off driving around the pits, but you could probably carefully scrape some of the excess off. I wouldn’t be so aggressive that you take off any of the tire rubber.

Drive them on the street for a couple miles and they'll clean up quick. Just stay out of gravel till they do, or they'll be stone chuckin'.

I wouldn`t worry about that at all. They look pretty new, and I would think that a couple of warm up drives down the return road would see that gunk go away.
