65 f-100 never ending project
« on: December 24, 2011, 04:11:47 PM »
This is my first vehicle i  bought when i turned 16 back in 1994. It started life as a 240 6cyl and 4speed. When i got bored with that i put in a 352 and an automatic. A year later my dads 66 2door LTD got totaled out which happened to have a 4v 428 with a c-6 trans. I wanted more motor and we joined the two together along with a torino front stub and lowering the rear. We had the motor rebuilt to stock specs and trans rebuilt also.
I had a friend introduce me to the world of drag racing. I was hooked and the truck has been a work in progress ever since. The best quarter mile run so far has been 11.96 @110mph.

Motor specs as it sits
30 over bore
10/10 crank
stock compression 10.5
out of the box Edy heads
streetmaster single plane intake (previously modified not by me)
Holley 850 double pumper
crower cam 16255
280/288 duration
549/550 lift
108 centerline
duration @.050 224/232
last but not least 125 shot of nitrous
c-6 trans 3000 stall wide ratio
truck weighs about 3450lbs

That's a neat truck. You've done well to get it into the 11's.

Maybe one of the reasons that I like it is that my 1st vehicle was a 66 f100 with a 240 and a 4 speed.

Good luck with it!

Love those trucks.  My first "car" was a '63 F100 2wd straight off of grandpas farm.  292 and a 3-on-a-tree.
