It was a great day for racing at MIR saterday.  Weather was perfect after some serious rain and storms Friday night. Things were looking good during the last round of qualifying for the fords. John Montecalvo held on to the #1 spot and Kurt Neighbor made it in on the bump. The field was 50/50, Ford/brand x.
Eliminations didn't go so well for the blue oval though.
1st round Johnny Pluchino just got outran, Alan Drinkwater shook hard around 100' , Jordan Ensslin had troubles down track, Derric Reese went red against Elijah Morton who put down a nice pass, Robbert Patrick broke and didn't make a run, and Kurt Neighbor blew the tries off around 60' against John Montecalvo who made a nice clean lap.
2nd round didn't go any better.  Only Montecalvo and Morton left. Morton broke and Montecalvo ran the quickest pass of the event but threw it away with a .007 red. All the fords were gone by the end of second round.. ☹
Still had a good time though catching up with old friends. Looking forward to the allstars race at VMP next month.

I like just about any form of drag racing, except diesel and import stuff, but to call any of these classes Pro "Stock" is a joke. There's not a single "stock" part on these cars, whether it's NHRA or IHRA.
