Axle shaft length

I have pair of 31 spline axles that I thought where for a 63 Galaxie when I bought them. At this point I an not sure what the original application is. Truck maybe?
 The question I have is the long shaft is 32 inch's and the and the longest length in the MPC for the a 63 Galaxie is 32 1/4.
With a Detroit locker and some sort of stroker 427 would it be safe to use them? I know that I will need to check the spacing between the axles when I get the old 28 spline axles out. Trying to get an idea if this is going to work before I start to pull everything apart.

Trying to remember, but I think the axles in my '69 F100 are both the same length as the pinion is offset(motor is offset in chassis) which makes the axles the same length.  So if the ones you have are two different lengths then they are car axles.

Correct 63 Galaxie axle lengths are 32 1/4" and 27 7/8".

The trucks have 5,5 inch boltcircle i think....Car 4,5

From what I have read in the F150 forum some 73's used a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. It wasn't common.
I really would like an opinion if I can use an axle that is .250 short according to the car MPC. How much wiggle room is there with axle length?
Has anybody seen this type of alignment ring before?
