My old original balancer came apart this weekend, it only lasted 53 years. The v belt groove is the outer ring of the balancer. Looking at new performance balancers the pulley bolts on the front of the balancer and will cause alignment issues with water pump and altinator. Does anyone make a balancer that will aline like the original? If so who's would you recommend? This is a stroked 390 444 ci 6200 rpm street strip deal. If I remember right it's internal balanced.
Thanks, John

Professional products sells them lines up with my water pump and alt.

I have that same PP balancer on my 390.I didnt have any alignment problems either.I beleve they cost about 116 dollars.

A new balancer should not cause a misalignment. The factory balancer just had the pulley cast into the front of it, extending the width. Sounds like you just need a new balancer and a single pulley to make it work.

I think Romac have a 427 replica with pulley integrated
I have a romac without pulley and adapted a pulley from
a Volvo B 23 engine

The outer ring is the pulley, the v belt rides on the center of the balancer

Professional Products balancer. Just sayin...

All FE belts are the same spacing from the block. An EDC, 390HP, 406, 427 and a 68+ FE balancer will get the drive pulley off the rubber. Maybe others.
