jegs/summitt rant (not me, but)
« on: November 25, 2023, 10:04:39 AM »
But I have a part on order from Jegs, which they took my money since June 30-2023 and still can't get a good delivery date confirmed. Even emailed the company that suspossedly makes the part and they won't answer

I haven’t tried myself, but as is the case with many companies since 2020, I’ve seen a few comments on the internet of PA being hard to get ahold of, so you’re probably not alone there. In the past Performance Automatic has had a booth at the big PRI (Performance Racing Industry) trade show that happens in December. Jay & I haven’t gone the last couple years, so I don’t know if they were there last year, maybe if someone attends this year they can check if PA has a booth? Unfortunately many of these small companies have had to do a major downsize if they can’t get the raw product to sell, or enough good & consistent employees.

I’ll add too - you might want to make a separate post on the classifieds section here, and put exactly what you want in the title. I’ve seen one of our members here comment on Facebook that he has had a PA bell housing he’d sell, if he still has it he probably just hasn’t read through this particular post.

And from what I’ve seen, I don’t think anyone has received a new PA 26390 bell housing in the last couple years, except from private parties. That’s not to say that they couldn’t return in stock at any moment.

Before you cancel an existing order, make sure you have something else lined up or you lose your place in line for backordered components.  I had a Dakota Digital RTX system on order with CJPP, got a 7 month leadtime confirmation.  I went to cancel, thinking I could find it quicker somewhere else, and the customer service manager advised me against it.  Her exact words were "find it first before cancelling..."

Supply chain issues are still ongoing.

the price from Jegs was really good, so I don't want to cancel.  I got some kind of discount, so long ago I don't recall why.  I have a Quick Time housing, but the PA housing has more access to the torque converter to install

Had a thought

Does the bell housing need to be certified or such ??

Could ya possibly use a modified COM bell ??
