Oh man!  I'd say you did get away fairly lightly though.  That could have gotten a lot uglier pretty quickly  :(

Put another quarter in and hit the Start button!  I think most of us have been there in one form or another.  Sorry to see that un-shiny area on that pretty crank!

It does seem to have adjustable rockers.  Maybe a 390 PI?  Too bad...

We also did a pair of two-valve turbocharged V-12's when I was at Ford in the early 90's.  One went into the GT-90 show car, and the other went into a tire-melting Lincoln Town Car (!!)

The engines each used a pair of T-Bird Super Coupe ECU's.  The blocks and heads were welded-up 4.6L V8 pieces, done by famous Detroit welder Chris Razor.  The cranks, cams, intakes, and exhaust (headers) were custom, and everything else was pretty much stock Modular.  Our chief engineer got the project through Corporate by calling it a "Welding Feasibility Study"  ;D ;D

It is important to keep that rear end warm and in good shape on your daily!  ;D

Great score!  You're doing it right.  I'd build the 427 block as a stroker with minimal overbore.  That setup with TFS heads should easily support 600 HP reliably.  I'm sure Brent will chime in with a good cam suggestion for that car combo.

Welcome to the asylum!

This takes me back to fun times!  I learned a lot of the same lessons spinning up that cammer head.  More spring is not always your friend, and you want to set the full open coil clearance pretty tight to keep things under control  :D.

That is a wicked cool engine.  With that much piston speed, I imagine it can't spend very much time at those stratospheric revs.

I assume that was an eco protester?  Yesterday a story came out of Germany where a bunch of Just Stop Oil protesters glued themselves to the floor of a Porsche dealership showroom.  They were demanding a 100 km/hr national speed limit  ::)

The dealership guys handled it quite well!  They ignored the idiots and just locked up the dealership for the night.  The next morning the poor victims were crying about no food and no toilets!  Imagine that - something real to complain about.

I remember when I lived in Michigan I was friends with some guys who liked to hunt on private land in the Fall.  A group of protesters found out about their hunting trip, and decided to follow them deep into the woods while banging pots and pans.  What they hadn't planned on was the hunters setting up camp in the woods that night, and it was going to be 25 deg F (-4 deg C).   The poor victims got to enjoy a night out in the open with no food  ;D

That is a handsome couple :) But no hat on the lady Bill, what is this? ;D ;D

I guess the bus is a White or International

If you end up in Sweden you are welcome at my place

Oh man that is a beautiful picture Heo!  As for the hat, the ladies in Montana only wear cowboy hats.  Unless there is horse manure on their boots, it's just not honest  ::) ::)

Yes you are correct - The bus was made by White.  Here's a front view:

Oh - And before you invite me to your house, you'd better ask Jay what it's like to have me as a guest!

... mustard yellow Morris Marina with diareea brown interior ;D ;D ;D ;D

That is the proper color combo for a Morris Marina!  I had a girlfriend in high school who actually had one (Austin Marina here in the U.S.).  Good thing she was cute, because that car was bad.

Great stories Heo!  It's good to be a kid at heart.  Yes, you live in a really beautiful part of the world.  It's on my bucket list to get over there sometime.

My wife and I were in Big Sky, Montana this weekend for a wedding.  That too is a really beautiful place.  (Thread hijack - sorry!!)

I have to spoil the scenery with a picture of two random people...

I will make up for it with a shot of a really cool 1930's passenger bus at our hotel.  It's beautifully restored!

Yikes!!  I'm sure a blown cammer sticking wide open will get your attention!  :o :o

Glad it worked out well and you're enjoying the car.

Very nice eye candy Jared!  I too am impressed with your attention to detail.  It will be interesting to see how that external oil pump bypass works out.  It should eliminate the oil aeration problem of the internal bypass.

Times like that are magical!

I remember when I was young and (a little less) stupid I did a long 2:00 am water skiing session under a full moon.  There was nobody around and the ocean was perfectly still.  It was spectacular!  Of course you had to know where the rocks and other hazards were, but that's stuff for old people to worry about  :o :o

I'm jealous of your epic motorcycle ride.  Those are rare times when you're one with your machine and everything feels right.
