Title: Plugging Sending Unit Tube
Post by: CV355 on September 08, 2020, 11:46:54 AM
I upgraded to a rear sump tank and no longer have a need for the fuel pickup in the sending unit (except for supporting the float inside the tank).  Short of simply crimping both ends, is there a more acceptable and clean approach to this?  I thought of cutting the external tube about 1/2" long, crimping and soldering the end.

Any ideas?

I know they make copper caps all the way down to maybe 1/8, so if you didn't mind soldering that in place it might be a cleaner looking option.

I used a cap that came with a compression ferrel and used that to cap the line. Believe it was from Earls and I bought it from Summit, something like $8.00.
