Title: C2 Shorty Headers Vs GT, CJ or Fairlane Manifolds
Post by: chris401 on January 05, 2014, 05:28:51 PM
Exploring factory cast iron ideas other than notching my 65 F's frame to clear my shorty's. Regarding balanced breathing did you record or notice any difference between right and left manifold flow on the GT, CJ or Fairlane?
Thanks

When I did the exhaust comparison I didn't get any flow information, just variation in horsepower and torque.  However, just looking at them the shorty cast iron headers and the Fairlane 427 manifolds appeared to be balanced the best left to right.  The 428CJ exhaust manifolds seem like they would show a significant difference left to right, because they look so much different.  Just guessing on that though...

Those were my thoughts. I may have room to run two driver side of any combo manifold if the I-Beam cross member does not interfere. I picked up a nice pair of shortys from a wrecked 74(?) for a decent price last year, haven't gotten the nerve to cut a straight frame.
Thanks
