Freshened 482 might get lit off this week. Double your chances to win a guess the hp prize. ( well, not you Brent unless you bid on yours under a pseudonym).
Closest guess to uncorrected peak hp number without going over wins a Walmart gift card.
4.25 x 4.25
Scat steel crank
Scat H-beams
Mahle pistons 9 cc dish 1mm/ 1mm/2mm ring pack, 11.3:1 CR
Barry’s CNC heads from ‘18 EMC, Comp beehives 520/195 spring pressures
Dove tunnel wedge massaged by Les Schmader.
Melling HV pump
Canton 15-850 pan with windage tray, 7 qt system
Innovators West balancer
Erson roller rocker assembly
11/32”, .080 push rods
Lykins custom hydraulic roller, 255/263@.050, 112 LSA, 108 ICL, 625 lift
Morel limited travel lifters
Pair of QFT 715 vacuum secondary carbs
Aluminum water pump
MSD 8595 distributor/ phased rotor/ 8mm Taylors
Shop 1-7/8” headers
Couple caveats: the tunnel wedge ports are a significant mismatch to Barry’s intake ports. 1-3/16” vs 1.75. There is not enough beef around the Dove ports to go any bigger without compromising the ability to seal the intake. It would have taken an aluminum artist and more than I paid for the intake to get the ports larger or invest in a BBM intake.
Gonna run it on some 100 octane.
Big tip: ran this combo a year ago with a worked Victor courtesy of Jay Brown and a QFT 950 hp and it made 632/627 on a numbers friendly Dyno Mite Land and Sea pump using 93 octane.
All are welcome to play.

Love it’s a square motor.
I like Raptors 640 so I’ll go 5 less at 635.
Marks 666 is funny as hell ;D

I'm an Iron Maiden fan and figured it's in range to blurt out the number of the beast.

I'm guessing 649...
Glad you got it back together, it will produce some good power
-
999hp... a nitrous bottle left over from a Chevy test will fall over and knock the valve off spraying into your engine.
If that doesn't happen i'll say 667

Hmm, 6s and 7s. Something familiar about those numbers

Did you get to dyno it?

Anyone wants to get a guess in I’ll be posting results later this week, gotta get the printouts and such.
Be well all.

Peak hp 636, (uncorrected). Like the last version of this engine it hit a peak number at 6100 and then came back a few hundred rpms later with the same number. Torque down around 10 ft lbs. Disregard the A/F numbers, the hats for this dyno were not working correctly. I convinced the owner to let me bring in a new wide band and it was a good thing or there would have been no A/F data at all. Motor made most power at 13.2-13.5. I requested that fuel be added just to make sure it was being given enough. The A/F went to 12.8 and engine lost power.
Also this engine liked 1” Super Sucker spacers with the open hole.
I have turbohunter coming in as the winner at 635. Send me a pm with your address please.

Great strip engine, held the peak plus or minus 4-5 hp from 5700-6600. Nice and flat on top.

Well done!
Going into the Fairlane I assume?
Street car or track?
If track how did it do before refreshening?
Cheers
-
Street car that would like to get to low 11s with. Made two passes with previous version of engine in October. Go to the Drag Strip Results which is part of Technical Forum. Scroll down to Had my Fairlane at track day.
