I know there are tools available to split the cap from a connecting rod, but what is the best way to do it with a rod on a crankshaft?
I'm starting to dummy up an engine to measure piston deck height and was wondering what is the best technique to split the rod. These are Scat I beams and have rod bolts. I've done this before with rods that have studs and nuts, but not with bolts. I'm sure there has to be a simple method, but it's just not making itself obvious to my tiny brain.
