First round of test fitting of the F2 and gear drive. Went well, need to make a few small changes but won't know exactly until I get the crank and balancer in.

Wow, that's cool

However it clearly won't work with my air conditioning :)
Who needs air conditioning at 150+ mph?  ;)

FE Technical Forum / Oil pan for chassis car?
« on: November 12, 2014, 08:32:37 PM »
What oil pan would you guys recommend for a chassis car?  No crossmember at pan area to worry about a front or rear sump.  Who makes a nice pan?  Ground clearance may come into play as the car will be fairly low to the ground.

Thanks!!

Rodney

I think they look great. Put me down for one to start off with.

I'm curious if this will work with my new gear drive unit for the F2.  I haven't had a chance to fit it too the block yet. Hopefully later this week.

Awesome work as always!!

Any pictures of how that blower and drive mates to the engine?

I was really curious about that as well. When you mock it up on the engine it would be great to see some pictures of it. I assume you can run a water pump off of this as well, or is it designed for strictly electric style pump?

I will definetly post some pics once we get it mounted to the block.
I am not sure if stock water pump will work, curious to find out though. I am planning on running an electric one but I will see if a stock would work.
My block is at chassis shop right now. We have been waiting on the supercharger and mounts to finalize fitment into the chassis as it hangs off the face of the block 15.5" +/-

I started this project almost 20 years ago, so I will definetly keep everyone posted. I plan to post more on it as things happen. It's a build that will take some time. I'm not in a hurry, neither is my wallet. :). I work a ton of hours too so that slows the build down. But one day it will be done and should represent the FE world rather well. As long as I can learn to drive it. LOL

The gear drive is from the Supercharger Store. The left hand pulley is for fuel pump drive.

Wow photobucket is being difficult tonight.

Since we are redoing the chassis I decided to go with a a large slick. So I decided on a 32.5"x 14.5"x 15. Here is what I went with as tire and wheel combo...

More updates to come.  Hopefully we will get a lot done on it thru the winter.  I had hoped to have it ready by FE Race and Reunion 2015 but that isn't going to be possible.  Might bring it as a project under construction?

Wow I can't believe is has been almost a year since I last posted on the car.  Well I do have a few updates. Finally did get the car into the chassis shop. The old roll age wouldn't recertify so it has been cut out and we are starting over from scratch.  Now it will be a 25.3 chassis.  Chassis guy is ready to start on building it. We have been rounding up parts the last couple of months. Chromoly tubing showed up today as well as 4 link setup, the Moser fab 9 reared housing and few other parts needed.

Coolest piece though is the ProCharger F2 and the gear drive setup for my FE.

I too wish everyone a Happy 2014.  My goals for the new year is to finish building my house as well as get the '68 Falcon built for FE Reunion 2015.  That's two major projects that I would like done by the end of this new year.  I might have set my goals a bit too high?  LOL.  :)

Jay,

That match plate is truly a work of art.  OH yeah I'm definitely in the market for a High Rise adapter now for my ProCharger build.  So please put me on your list for one of those too.

Good luck getting the new machining center up and running and getting the other ones running smoothly. Is that chicken coop getting full yet?  :)

Hello All,

Not much has happened with the car, still waiting on chassis shop and trying to round up some of these elusive FE parts.  :).

I also did get time to make a trip south this weekend to meet with Blair Patrick.  Spent some time discussing where we are headed with my engine build.  It was a great pleasure to meet him and had a talk FE.  We are both excited about this build, it's something a bit different.  Should be a nice ProCharger build and proudly showing off our FE.  I just wish I had as much FE knowledge as he has in his pinkie finger.  :)   I should have offered my skills as a certified floor sweep so that I could watch and learn.  LOL!

It's been a long time since I have had a chance to build a car, and I'm very excited about this one.  Hope to update you guys on more in near future.

Rodney

Nice collection for sure.  Don't think I would show my whole collection to the wide world web, but hey that's just me.  Even though I enjoyed seeing it. :).  Definitely a collection to be proud of.
