Looking for a single high riser head to mate with the one I have… long story short I sent the mating head I had to David Dove, it was in tough shape but he said he could get it welded… that was two years ago and I haven’t been able to get a hold of him for the past year.. last summer my brother bought a single high riser head at the Jefferson swap meet that was full of silver paint… looked like a decent casting that had some port work. Which was no big deal because the one head I still have has been ported also. Anyway, he buys it for me and I send it off the machine shop… we’ll come to find out the vendor at the swap was a swindler and the paint was .060 thick and that was hiding a bunch of shotty repair work in the chambers and one intake port, and the head leaks like wicker basket carrying water.
So if anybody doesn’t want to screw me over on another high riser head, I’d really appreciate any help on a good head preferably one that will hold water or can be repaired. Doesn’t have to be perfect just useable or fixable. Sorry for the short novel. Praying the third times the charm.

I haven’t seen David Dove make any comments or answer anything he’s tagged in on any of the Facebook FE pages in a long time. I have no idea if he’s been active on his personal Facebook page.
Cody I recently had my pair of original cast iron tunnel port heads repaired by a shop in Iowa, they did amazing work. Certainly it’s best if you can find the one good head you’re looking for, but if you get your other one back, or want the info for repairing another, let me know.

In Nevada Iowa can pretty much repair anything cast iron. Been around for many decades. Years ago a friend sent them a high-riser head that had two broken chambers and when they came back you honestly couldn't tell which chambers had been repaired.

Probably talking about Midwest cylinder head. Used them before with good results but they didn’t want to touch the head I sent to David dove. Maybe I should send the other boggered up one I have to Midwest and see if they will do anything with it for me

Just an FYI, Midwest Cylinder Head is not the place that welded my Tunnel Port heads. This place only does cast iron welding. I just point it so you know they may still be able to help you on your original head.

Kevin, I’d like to have another source for cast iron welding…
