Richard 125psi COLD is oblivious to HOT but the 67 427 FoMoCo shop manual lists the oil pressure as 40-55psi @ 2000rpm HOT

man I am wondering if that is some serious torque on the distributor drive gear & pin?

I built it in 1997 and have never had a problem.  It is a HP HV pump.  I just (usually) let it warm up some before I got on it.  Hot, it would run around 100 psi at higher rpm.

The Baldwin B253 I have used myself on several engines and have had no problem at all.  It is a heavy duty filter and has a high burst rating.  My FE ran about 125 psi cold so I used this as well as an FL1HP, 51515R Wix, or 1515R Napa.  I trust Wix, NAPA, Baldwin, and Motorcraft.  That's it for me.  JMO.

A Mopar filter is the short replacement filter with a normal diameter. The Wix number is a 1068 i believe. The short, small diameter filter is a FL400 in motorcraft.

Close...1068 is NAPA, 51068 is Wix.  NAPA filter numbers just drop the first number, in this case the"5".

They sold it after about a year for right around the sticker, but by then I wasn't interested.

I bet you're kicking yourself now. You couldn't get one today for sticker if you sold your first born as part of the payment. A typical GT goes for $300k now, a rare version (Tungsten or Heritage edition) will go for $400K+. A delivery miles only GT, of any option, will go for high $300k too.

Actually....yeah, I look back now and think what a dumbass I was for not buying it.  But it's not the worst mistake I've made.....

I think you'd be a good one to select for a new one but I guess "the team" at Ford didn't agree.  I almost bought one of the GT's back in '06...they had one on the showroon floor at the local dealer...marked up 100K.  I told them I'd buy it for MSRP but they wouldn't budge.  It was there to bring in traffic so if they were going to sell they were going to make a nice profit.  They sold it after about a year for right around the sticker, but by then I wasn't interested.

Thanks for all the replys.  I haven't been on in a while.  Y'all have definately given me some ideas.  My car isn't stock so I'm not sure if any "stock" kit would come close, but I'll Look into the over axle kit that might work.

I've been there and done that on my car...I kept finding more and more rust to fix.  Keep at it and you'll get it done.

I believe stock shafts with end supports are fine until you start to get radical.  JMO
