watched a wierd video today- 66 Fairlane 427 with TFS heads
« on: January 23, 2021, 05:33:46 PM »
Out of boredom today I was surfing the web and came across a video of a guy racing his 66 427 sideoiler or at least trying to.
He was at the dirty south race and flatten a cam.
Went home installed a new cam and lifters TFS heads and then flattened 2 lobes on that cam. No breakin procedures.
Then he ordered a mild Howards roller cam setup and the video ended.
What I found funny was when he was showing his tear down of the engine with the stock heads and the TFS heads he was using the stock rockers, the stock springs separating the rockers and stock aluminum stands. No type of end supports or anything.
The bad thing is people watching this video will think FE's are junk.
He did have a nice 57 supercharged Ford custom and 58 Edsel with 460 and 57 Ford station wagon.

Well I did give a $150 for my 428 about 20 years ago and they pulled it. Came out of a 69 T-Bird.
I found another 69 T-Bird the other day that a family had parked in the front yard when they bought the house.
They want it gone. If it is a Q code I will go take it off their hands.
Said I could have it. The tarp it is under is in shreads it has been on the car so long.
