Doug,
I was under the same impression that the Crites and Maddog headers were the same. I tried the Crites with a Caton T pan and it is a No Go, at least with the original design. If there is a T pan design I’m an not aware of it at this time. Just my experience. I happened to have an old set of Kustom Headers and they worked fine. They have been out of business for a looong time.

Private Classifieds / MSD 7 AL3 #7330 Black Box
« on: October 29, 2018, 12:58:30 PM »
I have a Factory Reconditioned MSD 7 AL 3 for sale. It is new from MSD Factory recon. I purchased this as a spare for my car. It was tested by me in my car to be sure it worked and it  works as it should. I am selling it because my car has a Holley Annihilator ignition set up and Holley quit making them many years ago. I did have a spare Annihilator box which I had to use last year as the original box went south. That left me without a spare ignition box and I try to have two of everything with me when I race. Could not find any Holley boxes so I purchased this as my back up. Found a Holley box so I don't need this one. Includes all the chips for rpm and retard/ advance chips plus I purchased an adjustable shiftnoid chip so I could set my own specific launch rpm.
I paid $599.99 and will sell it for $499.00 plus  $ 14.95 shipping.  A new box retails for $729.00
 Any questions, let me know.

Thor is a very good driver!!! He probably would have taken it out further but remembered there wasn't a clutch pedal in this one ;)

Glad you didn't go thru the grief of wiring something that is not necessary.

How old is this tech guy? Where and how is that to be done? Even some vehicles from the ‘80’s didn’t have clutch switch. I know you don’t want to make waves but if NHRA doesn’t require it “and they have some goofy rules” I’m with Rory on show me where that rule is in any rule book!
You could use a micro switch that the pedal hits thru your set up.

It's on sale for $248.00 - I did think about making something similar  just be that more accurate setting lash but as Larry said EOIC and go down one side then the other doesn't take that long and really dosen't change over the racing year ( unless something is going south) I back everything off at the end of the year so it would get used every Spring once a year.

We have Auto Zone, Advanced, O'reilly's and NAPA. If in a hurry and know what I want I go to Advanced as it was first on the way. O'reillys just opened up but I did't like the attitude there so far. If I want the best parts not the cheapest I go to NAPA- much more knowledgeable. I do use Rock Auto depending on the vehicle. I bought the manuals for my Ford Five Hundred and other than oil, brakes and filters there is nothing I can fix. My 1991 Super Duty I can fix just about anything on it.
Part of the part look up problem is the computer system and how it works. Even their on line systems almost always default to make, year and model.... very frustrating when trying to look up a specific part.

Cody,
Found the end stands! I have two different ways they can be mounted and was not sure which way you would want to go. Can use the 1/2" head studs or I also have chrome moly head bolts.

Cody,
Replied to a Facebook post earlier, I do have a set of Dove Hi Riser end stands with bolts but not sure where I put them. Going racing Friday so when I get back I’ll dig them out. They are new never mounted.

As much as the weather was iffy at times my brother and I enjoyed being there again. Even made it to the qtr finals and won a few bucks!!!!  One scary run where the car pushed to the edge of the right lane after the rain.... YIKES!!!!!

Spoke to Mike McCracken and the track is in good hands!!!

Spoke to Manley and they said to use Simple Green, rinse, dry and apply oil. No brake clean!

Just for the heck of it I'll call Manley on Monday and see what they say about it. Will post how they say to clean them.
