FE Rocker Arm and Hardware
« on: December 23, 2022, 02:42:58 AM »
First these are offered by Speed Master but, they are NOT made in China or any other Asian country.

They are made in Australia by PCE:
"Founded in Sydney Australia with one CNC Machine increasing to sixty 5-Axis CNC machines before being acquired in 2013. The Company’s main focus has always been "Speed to Market", launching 1,200+ new products each year. Needing just one month to develop a new product and get it on to the shelf, compared to the six-month industry average. PCE has a policy of zero advertising, preferring to invest a percentage of revenues in new product development. These products being white-labeled to most of the biggest brands in the business."

The price is extremely good @ $292 and the heavy shafts, spacers, end stands and other hardware are worth that.

The rockers look like they are well made, with large radii in the weak areas and are rated for 750 LB springs. They list 2 aluminum alloys, 6061 and 2024. 6061 would be suspect but, if made with 2024, they should hold up. I would hope they use 2024 for a 1.76 ratio. For the record, 2024 has the same tensile strength of steel. They also are roller bearings.

They seem fairly new, has anyone tried them?

Nope, haven't tried them.  Have had customers contact me with broken rocker arms with these though.  You get what you pay for.

Can you put me in touch with him? I'd be interested in purchasing them, if he's replacing them.

I haven't used them either, but I have seen so many reports, scores even, of broken adjusters or broken rockers split at the bottom of the bore on forums and Facebook. I wish I had better data or a name, but in the end, seeing they are not that prevalent, a large amount of failures is extra scary

If they measure standard Ford, and shafts are hard enough, could be a cheap way to get shafts and stands. However, I have seen too many failed reports to trust their rockers, and with the quality of what Doug Garifo sells and has for many years, it's hard to even justify the cheap parts.
